About  Us

Founded by two queer Black women, Synergy Matters is a wellness community that helps Black women & those who love us prioritize wellness, intimacy & growth.

We recognize that traditional wellness models have not been culturally inclusive and work to shift that dynamic. At Synergy Matters, we are re-imaging wellness and encouraging others to do the same for themselves.

We help our clients:

  • Tap into themselves and discover their highest potential by discovering what personal wellness means to them and how to infuse it into their lives.

  • Participate in meaningful experiences that transform their mindset and lives

  • Be a part of a supportive community where they can be their authentic selves and feel a sense of belonging

  • Have peace, joy, wellness and the life they want

Our Community

Session in Progress

Wellness is a practice! And at Synergy Matters, we are committed to the practice of wellness. We recognize that wellness looks different for each person and work with folks to re-image wellness for themselves. When we talk about wellness, we mean the things we do to maintain synergy among our emotional, mental, physical, sexual and spiritual health.

We believe that good energy, support & community are powerful tools for those on a personal wellness journey. Our community is made up of of people who fit into one or more of the categories below:

  • Wellness Seekers: People working to break harmful habits and prioritize wellness.

  • Grown Folks With Grown Folks Issues: People who are healing from past experiences, desiring a better understanding of self, contemplating life pivots, or aiming to improve their overall wellness after life's transitions.

  • Individuals Seeking a Boost in Pleasure & Confidence: People wanting to rediscover pleasure, improve intimacy, tap into their sensuality, get their mojo back and increase their self-confidence.

  • Committed Couples: Couples who are committed to staying together and need help improving communication and intimacy.

  • Community-Oriented Individuals and Couples: People who are seeking a sense of belonging in a supportive, welcoming, and inclusive community where they can learn, grow, connect and socialize with others in meaningful ways.

I never said "Well, I don't have this and I don't have that."
I said, "I don't have this yet, but I'm going to get it.

Our Story

We met on a beautiful summer day at a time where both of us were in the midst of our own healing and wellness journeys. We initially described ourselves as being open to "new friends", needing space and a little hesitant to the idea of being in a relationship. We were "doing the work" and weren't willing to have anyone throw us off course. We were definitely NOT expecting to fall in love. Within a few months, not only were we in love, but we were living together and building the life we always wanted but didn't always think was possible. So what happened?!?! An undeniable synergy that we couldn't ignore. And, what does that look like for us? It's a lot of things but primarily we practice shared values (yup, made a list together), total honesty (especially when it's hard), strong communication (in whatever form works), consistent R-E-S-P-E-C-T (intention in our words and actions), demonstrated trust (we got nothing to hide), daily care (even when we're frustrated or tired), making time (for all the things important to us), honoring individuality (be YOU boo) and the centering of our own personal wellness (even when we don't understand the method). We're a lil like the odd couple... very different people, with very different backgrounds and very different life experiences. At the same time, we're like bacon & eggs. We go really well together. Throughout our relationship we have talked about the importance of wellness because we each face challenges in more than one wellness domain (emotional, mental, physical, sexual and spiritual health). Together we are facing those challenges and thriving as a unit. We have encouraged and supported each other in doing the things that help us to be well. For Deneisha, it's time with her family and seeing her therapist and moving her body and aerial arts. For Kiwi, it's metaphysics and creating new things and cooking meals and taking space.  Synergy Matters was born out of love our for each other and our desire to help people get well and live their best lives. We currently offer coaching sessions, respite services and retreats. But this is just the start, we have sooooo much more in store for you all.  We hope you will join us and help us to build the community that we all deserve.
